Friday night in Tipton

I missed the Internet station last night so I am catching up here.
Yesterday was a nice ride again. We started in light rain and drizzle which went away and left a cool windy day for the rest of the ride. As always there were interesting sights from the road and the pass through towns welcomed us with food and drinks.
North Liberty was ready for a crowd. Zydeco music was available for those that can stay up after 9:00 PM. Our crew must be in the campground at 9:00 so they listened from afar.
Today was cloudy and pleasantly cool as we rode and ate our way across the route.
We dined in camp again tonight thanks to our campground crew.
All riders are tired after working hard for days. A short ride will get us to the Mississippi tomorrow.
We will dip tires, clean up, and head back to Des Moines.
I do miss some things at home. I predict that I will sleep in late Sunday.
Good for me.
Good for all of us.
I will post pictures from the ride soon. The number will grow as mentors and riders get me more in the next week.
One of the pleasant events of the day took place in Morely. Michael Morain of the Des Moines Register interview one of our Riders, Joe Kingrey. He also visited with other riders in the small group - David VanDusseldorp, Alex Mohler, and Dillion Barber. We had a great fun visit. Later in the campgrounds in Tipon, a photographer shot a picture of Joe and I against the corn near our tents.
On Saturday, the campground edition of the paper carried a large color photo and story. The statewide Register carried the same story with a smaller black and white photo. The article can be found today by clicking on the following link -
